Stay Alert Against Scams Impersonating Travel Companies and Schools
Recently, fraudsters have been impersonating travel agencies, organizations, and schools to exploit people's trust and commit financial fraud.
Common Fraud Tactics:
1. Fake Travel Agency Scams
Taking advantage of the increasing demand for travel, scammers employ various deceptive methods, such as:
- Creating fake Facebook pages and websites that mimic reputable travel agencies and running ads promoting highly attractive tour packages with exclusive discounts.
- Fabricating contracts and invoices, then requesting customers to transfer deposits of 30-50% or even full payments to "secure bookings" or "reserve rooms."
- Using bank accounts with names resembling well-known travel companies to appear legitimate.
- Once the money is transferred, the scammers cut all communication and disappear with the victim’s funds.

2. Fake School Scams
Several schools have recently issued warnings about fraudsters impersonating their institutions to steal money from students and parents.
- Scammers create fake school websites, social media pages, or Zalo accounts under the school's name to send fraudulent fee collection notices to students and parents.
- They provide bank accounts that appear similar to the real school's account but are registered under a different bank.
- Once the payment is made, the fraudsters block all contact and disappear with the funds.
PTF’s Recommendations to Protect Yourself:
✅ Stay vigilant and thoroughly research before choosing travel packages. Book tours, hotels, and flights through reputable companies or well-known travel apps.
✅ Always verify information before making any payments for services online. Contact the travel company or school directly to confirm the authenticity of the request.
✅ If you suspect fraudulent activity, report it immediately to the nearest police department for prompt investigation and assistance.
